Cities with barracks should be churning out vet units

How about rushing a Chariot in Enron (so it's Vet), and then building a Temple so that the Chariot can leave?

I agree with rehoming the Legion in Giza. We could also rehome the Horse or Chariot near there too.

We need more library's and temples.

I like the idea of rushing the chariot in Enron, do it in 2 stages though.

Would it be asking too much of our city planner to post screen shots of the cities in question? I realize that as our empire gets larger, we will be unable to continue to post the screen shots of all the cities, but while our city numbers are small, it would be appreciated by one who has no way to see the city status otherwise.

And when we get a larger number of cities, could you continue to post screen shots of cities where a significant decision needs to be made?

Just a thought,
Sparrowhawk

I'd love to but I don't have the web space to host the pictures, and I don't know how to do a screen shot.

That's why i have to resort to the non-pictoral representation that I use myself to confirm how our cities are doing.

Apologies, but perhaps HTower would be willing.

You can upload the pictures here and I could teach you how to make screenshots in 5 minutes.

You could add a row of links on the first post of your thread to speed up loadingspeed.

IMO we should be building Temple/Barracks/Units

Libraries are not much help without the roads, and really since this is a conquest game it would be nice to have some units to throw at the greeks.

Temples/barracks/units
Libraries won't help a whole lot at this point.
Re: Screenshots, just press the 'Print Scrn' key, and it copies the screen to the clipboard. Easy enough.

I voted "other" as I would like to see us build marketplaces, even without caravans, trade will be important, right now we don't have enough gold surplus to sustain any more then one additional city improvement, though that should change very soon now that we have a "King" for a leader.

Cavebear,

For some reason I can't find MSPaint. When I search I can find the help for Paint, but not MSPaint.

I could be wrong, but I think MSPaint = Paint (same thing)

I have a great little program called "Print Key" that i could email you if you like. it is 550 KB in size and will allow you to custumize your screen shots. youhit print screen and the program will open and let you save the file as just about any image file, or you can hit an edit button and it will open Paint for you so that you can edit your screen shot.

I have to have paint to make that useful.

I'm very curious as to why paint does not seem to be included with the windows installation that I had a friend do on this computer. It should be there, but I can't seem to find anything except the help files. Very curious.

Do a directory search for "mspaint.exe". If you don't have that, then you don't have the program. Do you have any other graphics program? You can open a screenshot in any of them.

No MSPaint? Do you have the .cab files on your HD, or do you have the installation disk somewhere? If so, you can go to Add/Remove Programs in the control Panel and reinstall it from there. If you don't have the install disk or the .cabs, then I don't know what you can do.

That did the trick.

Thanks BobSmurf.

Uploaded file of test city to Apolyton.
Now I just have to read over Cavebear's suggestions for posting screenshots.

Thanks for everyone's patience.

Other people helped me to figure out how to do things like post screenshots, so it's only fair to pass the favor along. The first time you manage to get a screenshot to appear is a great feeling.

FYI, for the future, save the picture as .gif or .jpg then the [ img] [ /img] tags will work with the link you have.

How do I do that in MSPaint? The only file extension they will let me save is .bmp

".bmp" is the default extention, but if you click on the arrow to the right of the "save as type" box, it will offer alternatives. "jpg" is a good choice for both file compression and universal compatibility.

I'm not totally computer illiterate.

That was the first thing I tried. There are four different states that I can select:

Monochrome, 16 colours, 256 colours, or 16-bit, all .BMP

Sorry, it's always hard to guess what other people know. This is what I see when I go to file extention choices:

And here is what I get, different for every computer perhaps? Possibly that for whatever reason, Obiwan can't save as Jpg? (as he said)
