Thats because you don't cut it often enough and when you do you cut it too short.

Wait until spring an put in instant turf and then cut it nice and high and do it every week.

Or do what I do and let it get 12 inches high and then cut the life out of it so you don't have to cut it again for 4 months. My latest excuse for leaving it si so the chickens have some nice grass to eat.

Unfortunately that conference I was supposed to attend rotates it's location. Hoping for a better golf location next year. Or Vegas. They usually alternate it between coasts so I expect it on the east coast next year. I don't have any clients in the NW so not likely to be there on business in the near future.

But yes, "just one more"

Apparently, I don't recall any complaints about my gaseous expulsions. But who would know for sure with War in the area? But that's kind of unfair to him, Rah and Ming are used to each other so the most powerful foreign stinkbomb would draw the most "attention".

Well, didn't wake up soon enough this morning to play golf so I'm heading out tomorrow morning. But I will be here Saturday night for a game.

You would need to be a fanatic to grow tomatoes here. Most of the shop varieties are for warm climates.

I have a spot at the front of the house which would probably be suitable. Lots of Westerly sun, very dry soil.

There's a guy down there with whom I've traded some seeds. He grows up to 150 plants a year, so it must be possible. This Czech variety - Stupice, I think it's pronounced "Stoo-peach-ka" - would be ideal down there. It's a very "early" variety, meaning it doesn't need the usual hours of sun, and, particularly, warmth. You'd get tommys from it roughly 55-60 days from the time it's transplanted into the ground, whereas the average "mid-season" tomato needs 70+ days. (The "late season" ones can take up to 90+ days) These seedlings I've started are about 5 or 6 weeks away from going into the garden, so if you're heading up this way around then, or if we organise ourselves to get down there, you can try some.

The apparent obsession with onions in this thread led me to believe it was a thread about vegetables. Hence the tomatoes. Sorry if I was mistaken.

Thin, but logical. More than can be said for the good Doctor's various intrusions into threads.

He calls himself a Doctor and thinks it gives him carte blanche to operate on other people's threads. Well, he's actually a Doctor of Economics, which amounts to a falsehood anyway.

The fact that he can sometimes spell them properly doesn't necessarily mean that he understands them.

But it hasn't taken a degree to threadjack or spam in the MP lately.

My point exactly. If an economist can do it, where's the challenge anymore?
