Empire Earth
After learning more about RoN, I am disappointed, and don't think I will buy that game now.

For those who own Empire Earth -- do you enjoy the game? What features do you particularly like, or don't like?

thanks

It doesn't have any gay people or moderate liberals in it. I doubt you'll like it.

Honestly, RoN does everything that EE does, except better. The only thing that was kind of cool was the "custom civ" option, but the trade-off is the lack of unique units

With Empire Earth, what is the time flow like?

I don't like the fact that eras go by so quickly in RoN -- even with the longest possible option, it sounds like time would go by too quickly for my taste.

the time flow in empire earth is almost identical to that of ron.

the rest of the game mechanics are worse--i believe that if you were disappointed in learning about ron, you'll find ee is not much better.

ee doesn't run off the idea of cities or borders, playing like age of empires only with really really stupid future units like ctp.

I like EE, and still fire it up now and again. If you don't like the mechanics of age of empires than you won't like EE. However, to say that EE is worse than age of empires is just plain wrong. EE in my opinion leaves AoE in the dust. Actually, the fact that it goes from stone age to the future is what I like best about it, because it gives a tried a true civ player a taste of RTS.

On the darker side, however, EE's AI cheats like a Mutha F#$@$%. So if the fact that the AI is given every advantage whether reasonable or not bothers you , then EE may not be for you.

I actually find it much much easier to advance in the later eras of EE...the prehistory and stone ages are sloooow and generally boring. EE does have more eras, it's true, but I think the future era units (especially the cybers) are really hokey.

I've played a full game of EE in about 3 hours or so, on a small map vs 2 computer enemies.

EE really runs on a "paper-rock-scissors" idea. If you have the wrong unit, you will take heavy casualties, regardless of how much you outnumber the enemy. And there are those damned "Age of" priests, who can convert units and buildings, and prophets, that can call down "God powers" on you if you aren't protected by having the right kind of building
