Next Technological Advance
In the last sequence of turns, our good King Shade discovered the advances of Engineering and Navigation, and completed the research of Economics, and started to research Sanitation.

The people have been divided in the past on whether we should be getting Invention (which will stop the rapidly dwindling flow of new technology from huts) or to continue to research alternatives to Invention in order to milk the hut gods for as long as we can (this list is now limited (other then Sanitation and Invention)to Physics, Magnetism, and Atomic Theory).

Therefore, select which of the above choice you would like us to next research with that in mind.

There is a second poll for long term goals, please post there what you think our longer term scientific goals should be.

Not much choice in the matter once we get Engineering. Invention should be the next technology.

Why not combine both into one poll?

Stupid poly , won't let me vote

I say the more discoveries we get from huts the better

While the odds of getting Invention from a hut are much better then the others, I don't think it is predetermined that Invention will be the next technology from a hut.

As for not combining them into one poll, I thought this choice was too important, and too often referring to by the citizen not to give it a seperate poll. Likewise the long term goals, too important to risk losing the message by mixing too polls together.

Research Invention next. That sets an endtime to the hut techs, but it will take us about 35 turns to research Invention (have to finish Sanitation first). By that time, we should have the other available techs from huts. And if we get Invention from a hut anyway, well we have a jump on the next techs beyond it.

I'd still say wring as much out of huts as possible. In the unlikely event we get any different techs than Invention from huts we find, that's all less to spend on tech later.

That's pretty much what I am suggesting. It's just that it will take so long for us to research Invention after finishing Sanitation, I can't imagine that there would be many huts left by then.

I agree with cavebear.

IF anyoneone took a look at samson's game log of size 1 OCC, he milked huts for techs by researching the next tech to Invention, since the game seems to not give you the tech you're currently researching very often for hut-techs.

I think we should've chosen Invention over Sanitation last round.

We've actually done very well delaying Invention, to only miss Physics, Atomic Theory, Magnetism and Sanitation.

All of our critical techs for Fundamentalism and Engineers are available.
