Forum images served differently

Most of the forum images are now served from a second http daemon. If you see anywhere any images missing please report it

Well, it's only been up for a few minutes (I assume) and it's not exactly very busy on the forums, but I'm already noticing a nice boost in performance

It'll be interesting to see how well it does during peek hours

peek hours - the hours when you watch to make sure your boss isn't peeking over your shoulder while you spost Apolyton.

I'm getting a noticeable load boost too.

It's 10:30 CST, which is about getting to the time we call "peak hours", and it isn't breaking a sweat. (Well, it is slow, but I'm so used to that for Apolyton it's normal. I mean, it is actually loading the pages is all that matters.

)

EDIT: D'oh. It's a Saturday too. ...Well, we'll see how it works when the new invasion of lazy work-slacking RoN cheatseekers comes on Monday.

While, as Ming says, it's not peak time here, the site is definitely speedy for me. Page loading times no more than 5 seconds today. Great stuff!

on settler 1, yes it was. on settler 2 i couldnt set it up from the start (the way apache and everything else is handled is different) until i saw a strange dream one day before my leave. next morning i knew what i had to do to make it work

/me applauds the efforts of the admins to make the site faster and hopes that it'll still be running well in 6 or 7 hours time when all the Yanks are on.

Well, it seems a bit faster for me, but I'm not sure what time those Yanks are going to start work. (BTW, I've been away for a month, so what's this thing with the avatars, are they turned off, just not working yet with the new picture hosting, or is it me?)

Well, Apolyton's been up all day yesterday and so far today. Either the lazy work-slacking RON cheatseekers invasion has cut off a bit or the trick is working.

I've been getting intermittent problems, that so far have always gone away almost instantaneously with a refresh.
