Thank you, Fez, for showing me the light...
Thank you, Fez, for showing me that the liberals were, as always, wrong...
Thank you, Fez, for showing me that our economy IS rebounding...
or, at least, if you say it enough, it makes it true...

The economy is picking up. I proved it with facts. Don't act immature in saying there is no economic rebound, as there is.

Umm, apparently you don't know much about economics. The unemployment rate is based solely on jobless benefits claims. It falling being a good thing depends entirely on why it falls. If it falls because people are being hired, it's a good thing. If it falls because 500,000 people gave up looking for work, not being hired anywhere, that's a bad thing.

The latter is what happened, so this is a bad thing. I think this is simple enough for you to understand. Keep in mind the economy lost 44,000 jobs net.

Actually, Sava does have a point. Discouraged workers are still unemployed, they just do not get counted. The situation hasn't improved, it was gotten worse, because these people have not had a job for so long, that they have stopped looking. If they thought there was light at the end of the tunnel, they would have continued looking.

The drop and the causes of the drop were much less worse than expected. Whatever caused the fall was stemmed by good economic policies.

Actually they do. Real income level have been rising in modest amounts and consumer spending has increased. Consumer confidence is exactly that, just a inaccurate indicator. Can I ask you? Since when do communists or any leftists have any idea about how an economy is runned?

The economy is expanding facts show... expanding cautiously, nonetheless supporting my opinion.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...-2003Aug1.html

Quote:
NEW YORK –– Business activity in the manufacturing sector expanded in July for the first time in five months, a private research group reported Friday, the latest sign that the economy may be recovering.

The Institute for Supply Management reported that its manufacturing index stood at 51.8 in July, up from 49.8 in June. A reading below 50 indicates that manufacturing activity is slowing, and a reading above 50 indicates expansion.

Norbert J. Ore, who oversees the index for the ISM, said that the improvement in new orders at manufacturers was "very encouraging, and reinforces the possibility that the economy will continue to improve during the second half of the year."

The index is based on a survey of managers who buy raw materials in 20 industries.

Economists had been forecasting a reading of 52.0 in the index.

A closely watched component of the ISM's report, the new orders index, rose 4.4 percentage points to 56.6 percent in July. Ore called the surge in new orders "very positive for the sector."

Ore, who is also director of sourcing and procurement at Georgia-Pacific Corp., a major paper manufacturer, said that "overall, the manufacturing sector is trending very positively and appears poised to continue a pattern of growth in the second half of the year.

However, Ore cautioned that many respondents to the ISM's survey still did not see a revovery for their businesses. Many are still concerned by high costs for natural gas and oil. Overall, manufacturers faced higher prices for the 17th consecutive month.

Also, employment in the manufacturing sector continued to contract for the 34th consecutive month, in a sign of continued weakness.

Bush's economic policies are like his education plans... "faith based"...

Meaning you need to have faith in them because such supply side tactics aren't the right way to brnig about economic prosperity for ALL Americans.

But you should be all right Fez. Your dad works for Halliburton, right? D1ck Cheney is looking out for you.

Not at all. More power to them for doing well. Although I think it's immoral for them to be inflating the prices of commodities for profit while everyone else is stuck in a shitty economy. But hey, I was born with a conscience, which is not good for business, apparantly.

Look at your own policies... we would be in a second epression right now if we listen to you.

I have a lot of information but I know from experience you would say the same thing as I said about your crap. what is the use if you are too thickheaded to admit your butt-buddies in the White House are evil, manipulative, jackasses.

If you don't start citing sources, you are going to start look like a dumb@$$. I am sorry but this is not how things work. I have learned the hard way around here to cite information. Apparently you have cited nothing and you qualify as BAM. And you have experience? Maybe in a few more years when you learn that faults of stupid communism, you will have experience. And be careful with sexual terms like "butt buddies". Not only does that denote that you are desperate but also wrong in flaming the other person you are talking with.

Therefore, you are full of crap.

Isn't that a coincidence? I want citation. Otherwise I come out as the victor here.

I don't. Except for the fact that you could be lying aswell. I think in this case you are lying, and proving nothing.

Chegitz, our resident communist, doesn't cite too well either.

Again that is nonsense. We are the only ones that have runned the economy well. In fact capitalism and the world economy are basically the same. They are the most compatible. You communists know nothing of running an economy.

Wrong, we have runned the economy to great success. I have charts that show that the economy under the Soviet Union was much greater than any capitalist economy. Capitalists have never known anything about any economy.
