Pet Peeves- Traffic Edition

There are the laws of the road. Then there are things that generally ought to be done. Here are some in the second category that people don't.

Tailgating. This is even counterproductive as the closer a car A is behind car B, the slower car B must drive to remain safe, due to the added danger of braking.

People who don't know what to do at a traffic circle.

Anyone who drives a Hummer.

People who plant shrubs on the corner of their corner lot, thus making it impossible to see left and right for oncoming traffic at a stop sign without pulling halfway into the street.

Anyone driving an SUV who shouldn't be.

Tailgating (considering I speed a lot... if you tailgate me, you are an *******.)

People who don't pay attention while driving (on phone, talking to ppl in car, general daydreaming, inattentive driving)

People who drive slow in the left lanes on the expressway and don't get over to the right to allow people to pass.

Driving in seperate lanes, keeping speed so ppl can't pass (see above).

Stopping too close to me at a light.

Pulling out in front of me.

(1) SUVs

(2) Big fancy pick up trucks and the dickheads who drive them. Tucks are for hauling stuff, not compensating for your tiny *****.

(3) Anybody tailgaiting an ambulance to take advantage of everyone else getting out of the way.

(4) People not getting out of the way of emergency vehicles.

(5) *******s who don't know what a 'walk' sign means. It means I get to walk, so wait. (This is more of a pedestrian gripe, but since I moved to New York the only driving I've been doing is on Vice City and The Getaway).

(6) Any moron with a Confederate Battle Flag. Go drive around the 9th Ward in New Orleans with your flag. If you survive, then I'll be impressed Mr. Rebel.

People who slow down in the cross walk as you approach.

Oh! People who stop at a 4 way stop sign, and even though you are 400 feet from it, still wait for you to get to the stop sign, stop, and signal for them to go before they will even enter the intersection... On top of that, those who still don't go, so you decide to go, since they are being dorks, and just as you decide to go, they start to go... Learn howe a four way stop sign works, morons!!!

People who don't get into the right turn lane to turn right (on one lane roads)... People who on top of not getting over to turn right, won't get over into the center divide to turn left...

People who signal at a small bend in the road and then leave their blinker on...

A four way intersection that is all stop signs... I know that 'a four way stop sign' is not a proper way to say, 'four way stop' or 'four way stop sign' is how everyone I know calls it as not to confuse it with a traffic light...

I know a few people with such flags and they'd be happy to drive anywhere with it, especially in Louisiana where they can shoot 'carjackers' with relative impunity.

Do you live in the south? It would seem not, given how little you appear to know. For many people here, flying the battle flag is not about racism.

Ever noticed that if everyone agreed on the directions 'right' (or 'left', but NOT both at the same time) and 'forward', there wouldn't be any issues at confusion boxes?

I can't stand ppl who drive cars that have not been taken care of properly and have a giant cloud of black smoke putting up a screen behind them, and then when you catch up top them you see that it is some tree-hugging hippie...

I also can't stand people who buy a $12,000 car and add about $16,000 in accessories to it such as; ground effects, 8-foot spoiler, an intake (as if they need one), curb feelers (on both sides of the car), tiger print seat covers, curtains, 18 bobble heads sitting on the dash and blocking their view, fancy hubcaps that continue to spin after they stop, licsense plate frame that lights up, bad tinting job, and a mural of the last super poorly airbrushed onto the hood....

-People who speed up when you try to switch lanes in front of them.
-People who thing a freeway is like a Loom- they just can't stop weaving
-Drivers and passengers who complain how dumb a driver is just because once they don't use a signal. or are in a hurry (that type of person does the same things but gets irritated when confronted).

I lived in New Orleans for 5 years, and Austin for 4.

Nobody in their right mind would fly a battle cross in the 9th ward unless they were flying it on a tank and it was daylight.

Oh, and I've asked it before and I'll ask it again (and likely again and again) - why don't you "Southern Heritage" folks celebrate your Southern Heritage by celebrating MLK Jr. and Rosa Parks? How about Huey P. Long or LBJ? They're Southern. Why fly a flag that many people in the south and everyone else in the world thinks is racist. Oh, and if you think the flag is not racist, then answer me this - would you feel comfortable flying it over MLK Jr.'s grave?

A cab started honking at me as I was crossing once. So I just stood their right in front of him and obstructed him for awhile. He was yelling and cursing, it was great fun. I made him stay there an extra cycle while giving him the single finger salute.
