NOt brave enough to use it until more reports come in. I tend to wait until the AU makes maps with a given patch.

Yes, ive noticed that barbarians now fortify much more than previously.

Ive also noticed that it takes twice as long to load a saved game .. it gets stuck at 38% and then 100% for much much longer than previously.

I too have noticed the longer saved games loading times...I wonder why that is?

I hadn't noticed that. Then again, I don't watch the load screen with that much attention.

Slow loading is more a bug than a feature, right?

I have not applied 127 yet, have you noticed the size of the save files being larger? They may have included more data points.

I too have seen 38% (wait) (wait) (wait) 100% with 1.27f. The really odd thing about it is I can't figure out what the game is waiting for. The CD light is off most of the time, as is the disk light. CPU meter doesn't get up above 2%. It's almost like the delay is on purpose.

The does seem to be a slightly longer gap before "Firaxis" appears. For me the save games haven't taken any longer to load.
