Scenerios with the Mac
Hey everyone... I am trying to make my own scenerio with Civ2. I have a Mac (whose main graphic editing program is Appleworks). Ive made my own units, but when I try to place them into the UNITS.PICT file the colors get all weird. I know it has something to do with the last 3 colors in the pallette, but i dont know how to keep those the same.
Anyone know what to do?
Thanks

You should ask your question in the "Scenario League / Civ2-Creation " forum: I'm sure someone there can answer your question!

For mac you MUST make your changes in .gif format and then convert to .pict.This is how it was for me.

Do you know of what programs are out there to use to save a file as a gif format? All I have now is Appleworks, and that doesn't do it.
Thanks

Hey Smash... I'm almost there I downloaded that converter, changed the UNITS.PICT file to a .gif, then copied and pasted my new units in. I then saved it as a PICT. Now, when I play Civ with the new units, they are there, but other things are miscolored. For example, the grass is still green, but theres now light blue dots all over the place. Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.

Well I am am far from an expert .I can give you a link to Scenario League.Scroll down abit and you will find a guide to to do all kinds of scenario stuff including changing units and terrains etc.

http://sleague.apolyton.net/Guides/0civilisation2.php

There also is a MAC section here at Apolyton(if you didn't know allready) which has some stuff ready to go including some good scenarios like Red Front complete with setup applescript(Thnx again Wulf) and other stuff like HiRes graphics mod by Tim Smith

You have to extract the palette from the pict file and then load it into your new graphic. I do this with Photoshop; if you use it I can explain the process better
