Dude, what was done to him wasn't fair. He didn't ask or want for that video to be publicized, and he was cruelly made fun of for it. I hope that he wins his lawsuit.

What can I say.. don't leave your tapes hanging around in public places... I feel like he should be left alone if he so wants, but.. that would mean there are going to be whole series of lawsuits if this goes through I guess.

I've seen the video, and it wasn't funny enough for me to justify the exploitation and harm that goes along with it.

I mean sure, it blows. But I'm never gong to meet him, and the millions of people that unknowingly will for ther rest of his life arent going to know him as the Star Wars Boi.

Its like going to college, you do whatever you want. He could go jogging and cut his har and no ones gonna know. I thik he should roll with it, think of the marketing! He did it when he was 15, everyone's a loser at 15.

I didn't think he was ugly, or particularly fat. He was just kinda stocky. Which lots of kids grow out of.

As for unpopular, he's the most popular kid in his school now.

Yes, especially those who've taken time out of their lives to donate money and gifts to him in support of his "plight"...some even going so far as to have a petition trying to get George Lucas to give this poor, wretched, god-forsaken soul an appearance in the next Star Wars film (nameless, lineless extra in all likelyhood).

I don't think this is much of a relief if he became the laughingstock of his whole highschool, or of his whole community.
It's difficult already to bear being the laughinstock of a small group (which he probably was). It must be atrocious to become the laughingstock of a much larger group. I bet his self confidence is now definitely zero

Look, he didn't want all that stuff, he didn't ask for it. This was all done without his knowledge or permission, remember? By kids who have made a habit of bullying and tormenting him, no less.

The fact that some people have independently been nice to him does not cancel out the perpertrators liability for the harm done to him.

The doofus made a tape of himself doing something embarassing. It's my understanding it was with school property. Being teased is the LEAST of the things he should be worried about. He's lucky the school didn't repremand him for using school property without permission. Internet Stardom isn't something he should be shying away from. Milk it for all its worth.

I'm sorry, but anyone filing frivolous lawsuits get zero sympathy from me. I was happy for this kid, that he should have such embarrasing footage of himself embraced by the Internet community and turned into a legend. When I first heard about this lawsuit (months ago FYI, good to see we're keeping up with CURRENT events Yahoo! News...

), I lost a lot of respect for him. Apparently receiving praise from the inner-geek in a lot of people isn't enough for these greedy sods, now they have to turn spiteful and attack those who exposed him. Yes, those kids did it maliciously, but NEWS FLASH, their act had the unintended consequence of turning him into an Internet Darling. The worst thing he should do to those kids is NOT give them so much as a dollar for busfare. If not that, then get on the school's case to punish the kids who also abused/vandalized school property by taking the tape and uploading it. That's where this case should end.

I guess the parents don't want their son to make the most of this. They want their piece and they want to take it out of the other parents. Shame on each of you for lending support to frivolous lawsuits like this.

Again, who cares if that's not what he wants? His life isn't fun now, it's hell. He is now a laughingstock, and he doesn't want to be. Just because YOU might like it if you were him doesn't matter.
