If posts don't count in the OT why do they here?
Just curious Dan, since most of the posts here to seem to be thinly disguised +1 attempts.

BTW, whatever happen to the faces feature?

We do need somewhere to replenish our postcounts!

Oh, and posts here actually help the site (generally).

We should be rewarded for bringing suggestions and other important items to the attention of the people in charge.

Good posting on relevent topics are there own reward, a +1 is worth nothing.

I'm really most interested in the second question anyway.

If they shouldn't count here, why should they count in the demo games. I mean...this argument gets us nowhere

I disagree. This argument gets into a situation where posts don't count anywhere.

Lets just say the OT is "special" and leave it at that?

Making OT posts not count is a way of making sure posters are contributing something before they get an avatar. So, yes, it is special.

Maybe we should speed things up a little bit and pay for an Apolyton business trip by Solver to Enschede for that interview. They say ACS has even some extra funds, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Or why this forum should be more tightly moderated.

Perhaps you should have a word with the co-owner (the one whose moderation you find so lax. ).

I believe, in previous discussions that they wanted this forum to be looser. I don't set policy, I just enforce it.

I'm confused. If the people who set policy wanted it looser, and you enforce the policy they set, why did you just post that you would make the moderation tighter if you moderated this forum?

I think what he means is if he could set the policy. Otherwise it just doesn't make any sense.

Yes it may confuse some. But, in my opinion, loose has turned into spammy. That's what I would tighten up.

I like to come by and share ideas (or jokes) with people I never see anywhere else. I post sometimes in the OT but I'm not a civver so some of these people I only interact with here. Plus, this seems to be the one place that everyone Apolyton comes to post, besides the mod forum of course.

Posts count here because it's supposed to be used for Poly related threads. Yes, most threads get spammed to a degree, but as Ming demonstrated in the above post, it is only to a certain extent.

Warnings are usually given first.

P.S. This is the only Forum that I've received a PCr for spamming in, so I personally know it's moderated.

ACK!
