Indeed. The point is that now the press suspects that the resources might haven't been good enough and they also refered to the rumors by Aftonbladet. Bah. The only thing they should (IMHO) say is that how injured she actually was. Clearly they didn't fail as she was very badly injured.

As I understood it, the security at NK said to people that "she was only stabbed in the arm, nothing serious. Keep shopping!". Or something like that.

Didnt she say "I've been stabbed in the stomach" (meaning abdomen) right after the attack. That's almost always serious.

hte problem is that yesterday they said that it is illigal to save the recordings from the security cams. Hopefully NK broke that rule....... :O

It is quite ironic that a minister of the govenernment that cut mental clinic funds gets stabbed to death by a homeless mentally ill person. (if that is the case)

Mental Health funding isn't provided directly by the government, it goes through the regions like all health funding. And the Psychiatry Reform (which is the major part of the problem) was passed in June 1994 while we still had a Bourgeois goverment.

And the police have taken the homeless dude off the list of suspects.

It would turn out to be a very 'nice' development if mainstream society starts to look at the homeless as threats to not just their walk in the park but to their very lifes. More stigmatisation is probably not what the homless needs.

True, but at least they have some fingerprints and lots of witnesses, I think they have a decent chance to catch him.

Btw, I just heard that the Yes camp (to join euro) appeared to have got a big boost since tuesday. Seems like they might get lots of sympathy votes after all. Also, the referendum on sunday is maybe not a given "no" anymore.

CI: Yep, heard something about 50-50 in one poll. Of cource, the margin of error is usually around +/- 3 % in such polls, but it's still a significant change if the poll was done in a professional way.

Exactly my thoughts too. But according to the news today, it's not really the funding cuts, but the change of policy. Instead of medication and locked institutions, they use discussion therapy and volontary treatment, typical leftist methods invented by those who deny the impact of biology on human behavior.

Now the Social Democrats want us to participate in manifestations and tourch marches against violence, when the real problem is the hippie (flum) politics the Social Democrats stand for.
