New medieval scenario
Hello,

My new medieval scenario is nearly finished and I would like to send it to the SLeague for a review.
But it is completely in German. Should I include an English ReadMe.txt or is this not important?

Something in English to let people know what it's about would probably be helpful, though we have quite a few Germans and German-speakers here. Unfortunately I am not one of them

Most people can read German. It's not to hard to translate. But a readme in english would be appreciated by most people.

BeBro: hast du auch an die Sache mit rules.ger und rules.txt gedacht? Ich frage nur, nicht daß die Amis das nicht spielen können weil die rules.txt fehlt und du nur die rules.ger mit drin hast

Danke Andz83, ich werde sowohl *.GER als auch *.ENG Files beilegen.

Simply running your readme through Altavista Translation should suffice.

Thank You all, I translated my readme with AltaVista´s help (thanks St Leo). They make some nice errors (e.g. King Otto I. translated into Petrol I. ), but generally it´s ok.
But I´m still have some (stupid?) questions:
1. Somebody told me that, for the English version, the extension .ENG is used (e.g. RULES.ENG), but all English scenarios I´ve seen have only .TXTs, is that right? (As You write, Andz83)
2. This is for the German experts: If I include TXT-Versions, should I replace all German Ä-, Ü-, Ö-things (AE, UE, OE)?

I think I'd better learn German. Anyway, how hard could it be?

Im Prinzip war das ein Angebot.

The ANZAC: It's not THAT hard. You only have to get familiar with words like "Beinhalten", "Seeungeheuer" and so on...

lol KhanMan - and you can stop that double posting!

I think St. Leo's suggestion was right in running it through an online translator, although BreBo - there's nothing wrong with your English anyway it would seem (says he, the Australian).

Perhaps you could install Civ2 into another directory with all of the English language defaults, and save it from there? (I'm not too sure what the exact nature of the problem is).

As far as file extensions are concerned, go with the pedia.txt file rather than rely on the Civilopedia. While there's no problems with the English (*.pde) or German (*.pdg) language files in the pedia folder, all of the French files are understood by my computer to be Adobe Portable Document Format (*.pdf) files.

Using the online translator was not a bad idea, but yesterday Stefan Härtel maked a MUCH better translation (thanks!) and so this problem is solved as well as the problem with the extensions.
Cam, You think my English is not so bad? Nice from You, but You haven´t seen MY translation of the readme...
