Over 250 changes to the epic game!!!
Quote:
How has the Epic Game changed for Civ Conquests?
Civilization III: Conquests introduces over 250 changes to the standard Epic Game. These include new Wonders of the World, city specialists, governments, civ attributes, disasters, unit abilities, interface changes, game options, and victory conditions.

This is good news indeed

That sounds like a lot. I think they might be including all the scenarios.

Or yeah, maybe they did include the spelling corrections.

The list is impressive for the scenarios, too:

Quote:
What do the Conquest scenarios add to the Civ experience?
Each Conquest is a self-contained adventure that reinvents the Civ experience within the context of one period of history. They each bring new strategies, tough decisions, and a different feel to the game. Some favor straight-out war, while others emphasize diplomacy. Some require constant expansion; in others, it is all about culture. In total, the Conquests provide:

- Over 85 new technologies
- Over 50 new units
- Over 60 new buildings and wonders
- 30 new resources
- More than 8 new governments
Edit: damn, I've just seen that this is old news, posted already in another thread. Anyway, great stuff!

What is " epic game " ?

You mean perhaps not scenarios but the game that start from year 4000 B.C. and never ends ?

If the editor will allow the maximum freedom to the " epic game " well, this upgrade must be bought immediatly,if not I have to take an aspirin.

Thanks

I assume that "epic game" means the standard normal civ game.

Also, note that new civs are not mentioned in that quote in the first post. Make of that what you will.

Q: How many Civ tribes can be played in the epic game?
A: Players can choose any one of the sixteen original tribes, the eight Play the World tribes, or the seven Civ Conquests tribes, for a total of thirty-one playable civilizations.

I think by 'epic' game they meant the scenerioes, not the standard civ game, otherwise it won't be 'epic'.
Well, scenerioes are nice, but I would preper a real 'civ' game.

The text says: "standard epic game". I cannot imagine what a standard scenario could be, so I bet it is about the standard game.

The 'epic game' is regular random map play.

If epic game is from 4000 B.C. to infinite, I hope the editor will allow to this epic game to use , beside new units , even scenarios units and improvements.

Let's see what will happen,in any case from 4000 B.C. to infinite is the success key of CIV ,therefore it does not have to be removed, otherwise Sid will march over Atari claiming his rights.

uhm... but 85 new techs in the regular game? that would be about a doubling (!!!) of the current number of research goals.

and 60 new improvements? how on earth will you ever manage to build all those in all cities before 2050 AD?

i'm torn between seeing the "how-can-that-be?" and a beta-testers affirmation

sabrewolf, I think it would be wonderful indeed if you couldn't have everything in even all your core cities!

OTOH, I am SURE that some (or even many) of the new techs, units, buildings, etc. are not for the epic.

The epic game doesn't have all of these. Between all of the Conquests there are this many.

And I'm glad to see another ancient Americas civ - and we get very authentic as you can see from this screenshot :

Finally a use for all those extra foriegn workers I get in wars of conquest!

For the record, I'm usually big on spreading foreign workers around to diverisfy my cites - but that never felt right when playing the Aztecs, somehow

Echoing Gunter, I'd love to extend it a bit past the current tech tree end (that was one thing I liked about CTP!) And do I get play a huge map with 31+ me civs?

Ok,

Developers,producers,programmers etc...

please come here to clarify the issue and above all please allow the editor to insert at least couple of new things ( units, techs, wonders etc. ) ,otherwise Sid will be very angry this time, and customers too.

Epic game has been the core success of Civ series and if you think to have it without new improvements you are wrong.

Please let us know

Gunter, I've been able to insert stuff into Civ3 for quite a while. I'm not sure what you are getting at here.

I meant that mee too was able to insert stuff, but I had to fiddle around a lot with that stuff in order to balance the game and in order to have a proper graphic layout working fine.

If the Civ Conquests editor will allow not only to insert into the game scenarios new units/wonder etc..but also importing ,via an easy wizard, third part creations it would be easier and funny.

My major concerns are anyway related to swap epic game units with scenarios ones and vice versa or simply adding scenarios units/wonder etc. into the epic game with a good balance.
