Turnlog 1620 - 1758
I played quite a long session, mainly becouse not much happened on turns

We bribed a couple of American and one Greek city's.
The highway will take a long time yet but the good news is Americans are currently researching Railroads.
We are about halfway to Explosives

1620: Change production in a lot of city’s as per the CP/MoW’s recommendations.

We find the Russian city of Moscow, we make peace and collect 200 gold in tribute
Some American invaders killed near Sheol, our Musk becomes a vet. I rush the Baracks being build there with the money we got from Russians.
Kill a diplomat near Styx.

1630:
Americans change to republic. Germans almost build Mike’s Imperalis builds market.
A Greek knight is bribed near Rack.

1640:
Stuttgart builds Mike.

Germans start on Statue.
Chariot kills Greek cat near Dominion. Settler near Atomants Hell starts irrigating

1650: We are proclaimed the most powerfull civ on the planet.

We bribe the American city of Dallas for 69 gold.

Greek knight is killed outside New Apocalyps.

1660:
Americans get steam and start on RR The also start building the statue.
Americans get Chivalry from Germans. Misery builds market.
American units killed near Sheol and Styx. (The amount of attacking units seems to be increasing.)
City of Sebennytus founded near Imperalis.

1670: Zulu get poly. We get 100 gold from a hut. The Greek city of Argos is discovered south of Outpost, we can bribe it but I reckon we can bribe Chicago in 1-2 turns so decide not to.

1680: Some barb crooks land near Atomants Hell.
Zulu discover Astronomy, now going for Phyl.
We bribe Chicago for 670 gold and sell the granary.

We take Steam and are now on 31 turns a tech

Americans want peace, yeah right
Cannon in Sheol kills another incoming American cannon.
We find the size 5 city of Baltimore SW of Melkweg witch changes to dip for future bribing.

1690:
We have 4.000.000 citizens
We kill a couple of wondering Greek and American units.

1700:
Americans change to Demo. No more bribing
We make an Embasy with Germans, they have 14 city’s, 1040 gold, they have Leadership and are currently on Theology.
City’s of Arrows and Outpost founded.

1710:
Another dip intercepted near Styx..
We have many units sweeping the ground between us and Americans.

1720: Germans get Uni from GL.
Sneakattack by Zulu forces, they kill a Knight

Barb leader killed near Atomants Hell for 150 gold.
American city’s are in disorder so their Democracy might not last long.

1730:
Zulu get gunpowder from Greeks in exchange for Navagation. They sign a peacetreaty.
Some wondering Greek and American units are killed. 200 gold from a hut.
City’s of Shield and Obelix are founded.

1740:
Americans develop Feud, going for Conscription. Chicago builds settlers and starts on bank

1750:
We build the city’s of Hoefnix, Kostunrix, Assurancetourix

1752:
Zulu’s develop Phyl.Glorificus builds market.
The Greeks want 800 gold for peace

1754:
Greeks get Leadership., Zulu’s get it from Russians and they sign a peacetreaty.
Germans have almost finished the Statue.
We make an Embasy with Russians, they have 1 city……
As I’m getting bored only moving units around I decide to bribe the Graak city of Argos. It costs us not even half our gold and this way we have a base in this region. (Outpost being too small to survive on its own..) We get Leadership.

1756:

Americans change to Rep, immediately I bribe Baltimore before they change back.
We find the Greek city of Apollonia, a dip has been dispatched to bribe it.We find a settler in a hut NE of Melkweg. Americans want peace
The city of Nognix is founded.

1758:
Zulu and Russians exchange Potery for Astronomy, they form an allience against us

End of session.

We are up 13 city's, build 9 and bribed the other 4.
Our techrate sucks bigtime but we have a lot of money comming in to bribe our foes when they get out of Demo

Why is science at 80%? Fundy doesn't gain anything from having science above 50%.

By moving the tax rate around, we don't *lose* anything above 50% either. It just doesn't change until below 50%.

What happened with my earlier proposal of going for a celebrating Fundamentalist government, by cranking up taxes and luxuries?

I'm going to play around with the save as soon as I get Civ installed again.

Surely we can do better than 257 gold given the size of our empire.

Anyways, good turns, we should send a diplomatic expedition to 'scout' out Stuttgart. Surely, the Germans will want to show off Michaelangelo's Chapel.

I played around with taxes but even with 50% lux we only get a couple of city's celebrating.

Its not worth the effort

I've been trying to set up my computer, and less than diligent about checking my emails. Therefore, it must have bounced because I don't see the latest save in my folder.

Please re-send now, as I have cleaned out my backlog.

atawa:

One trick to remember, pull up one worker, even if the city starts eating the granary so that the city celebrates.

Secondly, maximise trade, not production, in every city.

With 80 percent luxuries and the starvation trick, I can get every city to celebrate except for Famine and Dallas.

We can lower luxuries once we cross the threshold to celebrations, the hard part is to get to the celebrations first.

Since, I am only the humble science advisor, I recommend that the cityplanner adopt these suggestions to greatly improve the productivity of the glorious Apolytonian Imperium.

Great session, our army has grown quite a bit.

I think now it might be time to do something about our taxes and science...50 cities and only 12 markets and 12 libraries we need a lot more.
(I've posted a poll about all this)

The forum HAS been a little bit slower than usual recently I guess....

Will there be any further play before elections? Perhaps the Prez is letting the next Admin take over from now.

Here's the deal...
I got a pm from atawa indicating that an emergency had come up on his end, and that he couldn't play. He asked me to play in his stead.

The thing is, I am kind of short of time here and probably won't be able to play until early or mid-week.

So, if that's acceptable to the citizenry, please email me the reports. Otherwise, I suppose we can wait until the next administration.

The Foreign Ministers report has been forwarded to our Vice President. We look forward to hearing the results of your turns (in other words, in my humble opinion, you should play when you can, especially as atawa's position is as of yet uncontested for next month).
