Man if Germany does have 10% unemployment that is really bad, and people here in the US start to complain when it reaches 5.5%. I think it has to do a lot with the socialism that most European country pratice.

You are unemployed when you are trying to look for a job. If you have no job and are not looking for a job then you are not offical "unemployed".

hard to count
It is pretty hard to count people not looking for work. There are a lot of reasons that people do not look for work. People who need work, but have given up are but a subset. One can only estimate these things, and accuracy would be pretty much impossible to achieve.

Did you read the "advice" he gave me. I think it is self-evident why he should never even consider being a psychologist!

Were you in grad school or in ug? UC is UNDER the Naval Academy in party schools. Do you know how bad that is? Especially in Chicago????

Yoy can look down on the Woops though.
i'm still an undergrad at uc.
we're also under brigham young in terms of party schools--the same brigham young where men are not allowed to wear shorts that aren't six inches or so longer than their knees for being too racy.

the parties aren't great, but then again, most of us didn't go there for the parties, so... yeah, the frats suck.

My school was more of a party school then your school.

That's because you're buddies with the mods -- mod buddies get bonuses here on Apolyton.

He has almost a whole page to himself.

Well my quandary is what to do about living now. I can stay in the Hull area and commute to work (apparently there is a cool car pool scheme which will be handy). Or I can move to Grimsby, which having visited a few times I can honestly say is a festering sh*thole...

I'm FT employed as an Employment Consultant...

Basically I have a caseload of 80+ long-term unemployed people to find work for... Ranging from 12 months to 24 years unemployed...

Private company in Brisbane, paid upon people achieving 3 months FT work by the goverment (paid by governemtn, but not working for, and none pf the perks...)

Came through this execat same program 3 years ago - started on Admin Traineeship on front reception, did that for a year, moved onto admin support for a couple of our ther programs, then Job Placement - pretty much spying out good job prospects for people and calling them about good jobs and encouraging them to apply for them...

and now, three years down the track am doing the same thing for people that were in my situation - unemployed, on the dole and looking for work (except only about 40 per cent of the people I deal with are actually looking and about 20 per cent are off their face, have big problems - physical or mental and then the usual people that just like bumming off the Aussie dole system...

Not that I'm knocking that, did it myself for 2+ years, only thing is, I'm now paying my dues... Wish I could be very blunt with some of these people...

Good luck with the jobsearching for those of you that are looking - If you are working and looking - DO NOT LEAVE UNTIL YOUR NEXT JOB IS GUARANTEED!

Get pay details in writing and speak to past employers if possible...

Cheers!

David
