One Israeli song I remember liking was "Jerusalem of Steel". It was a variation on the old song "Jerusalem of Gold". I don't remember who did it.
(Hope I'm not showing my age... )

There probably is but, alas, it's not my thing. I'll ask around, though.

Hm. I like some songs not bands.
I like "Kryzysowa Narzeczona" by Lady Punk (or was it Lady Pank) for example. Try this. I like the lyric somehow. Perhaps it's not that good without it.

If I understand correctly, it was a variation of "Jerusalem of Gold" first sung by an amateur musician in the army at Jerusalem celebrating the reunification of the city during the 6 Day War in 1967. A young Israeli lady friend gave me a copy with some popular Israeli tunes around 1978.

No, not 'ethnic' or 'folk' music. 'Regular' music. But only from countries that aren't USA and UK. Or maybe little known bands from the UK, and USA.

Pop, Hip-Hop, Rock, Metal, Techno, just please, let it be GOOD music.
Anything by the band Silverchair, there a great band and fairly well known even outside of Australia.
