Jerusalem owns a lot of Isreal/Palestine, as well as a chunk of Africa.

If somebody tells me how to get that cursed "Splinter of the True Cross" to move, I'd take the Germans, for obvious reasons.

I haven't played this scenario but if it is like the 3 sisters tutorial you hit Shift-C when a unit is active on the item and it will be picked up. The unit will then have red text if you rt click on it and have exclamation points after their name in the normal view.

I tried it (Shift-S is it) and it works. It can't be dropped afterwards, so I shall be carefully whom I hand it.
I'm Germany then.

I'm feeling suicidal - I'll take the Abbasids.
What do I have to do? Just keep you Christian dogs out of Jerusalem?

Yeah, you have to grab it (there's a grabby icon now) and the only way the unit drops it is if the unit is killed, disbanded, upgraded, or it delivers it to its destination.

Five players is fine by me, the Rus have the Berserker and similiar units to the Danes if Uber wants to play them.
Anatolia should start it up since he has to play first.

Sorry, I didn't get an e-mail saying the thread had been posted to. Should I start now? Please make up a final list of players, their order, and what civs they will be playing and I'll start it up.

The order is already set by the scenario, all you have to do is type in the players names and be sure to place a computer player for the civs that aren't played by a human.
The Players:
Abbasids (Jerusalem) - Anatolia
Germans - Sir Ralph
Rus (Russia)- Computer
Byzantines - GhengisFarb
Franks - CerberusIV
English - Computer
Danes - SirOsis
Corovans - Computer

... although I wouldn't mind to restart, if Uber wants to play. It's the funnier, the less lousy AIs are in here.

It'd be nice to have a human player helping me on the side of the Muslims.

One more thought: Can we agree not to "rush" the AI players, meaning not to conquer them but only to defend if they attack and not to take their cities? It would be imbalancing, otherwise, and unfair towards players who have no AI neighbors.

Yah, if Uber wants to choose a civ, I wouldn't mind restarting to include him but he still hasn't said which civ he would be.
To Cerb.

I'll play Corovans if you want to restart. England is too vulnerable to berserks and Rus is in the middle of nowhere.

I don't think I can entirely sign up to this. I have had a look at the first few turns of the SP version as the Franks. Ghent culture flipped to the Burgundians on turn 3!
To get anywhere I need to pack in a few more towns and push the Burgundians back a bit. I will agree not to wipe them out but not pruning them isn't an option for me.

There's no Burgundy in the MP version. I don't think anything will flip.
By the way, IMHO it's ok to "prune" the AI as long as cities are razed and not taken.
