Pool Table Preference

Would you rather shoot pool on an 8 foot pool table, or the smaller bar-sized pool table?

Big is good, assuming you have the room to comfortably play pool on it. Cue + wall behind you makes for an annoying game.

Bigger is better, but they are more expensive than smaller tables. I don't really know which one is better, given that.

Maintenance of said table isn't your worry.
Neither costs money.

Large table. Always opt for the larger one. Small ones are fine until you decide to get serious.

You can also buy refurbished for decent deal. Just make sure it's delivered, leveled and the slate underneath the fabric is relatively intact.

I started playing snooker before playing pool, so I'm comfortable with playing on big(ger) tables.

make sure the cloth is absolutely the best there is. nothing ruins a good shot than a piece of lint that crops up.

You have to remember to put in good lighting as well. One of those fixtures that hangs over snooker tables is the best.

It's so freakin easy to run the table on those tiny bar tables. The large ones actually take some skill to play on.

Ok morons, here's the deal.

The American Legion has an offer for an 8' mahogany pool table.
Currently, there's a beat to hell bar sized table being used.
Amazingly, the Commander is prepared to turn down the offer; and there's no reason getting all into the discussion about they whys and crap.

I was under the misguided impression I could survey you jackasses to make my point.
What a laugh riot that thought was.
