Ordinarily I would agree with that Ming, but the pop-up situation has become much worse than is ordinarily the case.

Hopefully Mark will get time to do some investigating on his hard earned vacation this weekend.

A few ads crash my Moz (1.3a.) Could these be the ones doing it?

I can't imagine anyone having popup problems. I just can't.
With so many free programs, there's no excuse for it, and I'm serious.

I didn't click Yes and I got some dataminer that changed my homepage to a porn site with roughly one billion popup ads. Good times; good times. Thank god for Adaware.

(Semi-)Public computers.

Work PCs, school PCs et cetera. Users of those machines are not always allowed to install personal use software.

This makes them susceptible to these nasty popups.

If that is true, then things have really gone bad here at Apolyton. I just wish the administration wasn't so silent about these things.

Weird, I never had anything like that happen to me, even when I log in from my univ, wich doesn´t have any kind of pop up stopper.

Google toolbar is a great little piece of software, get AdAware and you are on the right path. I do not believe that you can be 100% sure.

So long...

Not a one. My ex-wife made sure I'd never forget by installing Bonzi Buddy on my computer a few years ago. One of many reasons for the divorce.

Once again,. this is not my home computer that I get the pop-ups on.

ACK!

Can you really use spyware installation as a grounds for divorce?

I just got this. The pic should show the offending add, but I screwed up the screen grab so it doesn't show. It was a pop up selling computer stuff that took up the whole screen.
