Blitzkrieg 1936
Noone seems to have made a scenario covering the years before ww2 actually broke out. That could become quite interesting. It would be perfect for PBEMing, with lots of diplomacy and buildup of nations. Stalin could for instance not purge the red army. How would the that turn out? Would Hitler continue to violate the 'Versaille treaty'? Japan doesn't nessesairily have to attack China. Would Germany occupy Austria. What about the Spanish civil war? There would be lots of thing to do and lots of land to conquer .

Therefor I have started to work on a giga world map scenario starting in October 1936, when Germany and Italy forms the Axis alliance. It is in the same setting as my other Blitzkrieg scenario which is tested as we speak. !! Here !! .

I could need some help and tips, in order to make it a classic. What units should I use? And so on...

I am using the same setting as in the 1941 version, so I will post the sav-file with how the world looks like. Feel free to comment on city placements and so on.

Thanks!

EDIT: Attachment removed in favour of a newer version

I think a 1936 scenario would be more effective if it concentrated on a European Map rather than a world map.

Maybe. Depends on the eye who sees it. In that era European affairs quickly became world affairs .

This is my point exactly - I think you should make a detailed scenario based on Europe if it is going to be in 1936.

You have so much going on in Europe at the time - the re-occupation of the Rheinland, the Aunschluss, Sutedanland, Spanish Civil War, Soviet/Finnish War, Italian Invasion of Albania, and so on.

Remember, a lot of what happens does so before 1939, so already you would have plenty to work with before war broke out (or doesn't break out? Make the Scenario open ended, so players can take alternative routes if they so choose.).

I like the idea of one being able to build up their country from nothing - this is especially the case of Germany, who would need to develop military technology and build up the armed forces and industry.

What about all that was going on in Japan and China? Is that not important?

My point exactly! I want to include every important event from the whole world. Only in that way can you make it as realistic as possible. On a giga world map you will have to watch over all possible fronts, just as they had to do in real life. Sorry guys, but I have decided to use a world map.

It is important, but Europe had more of an impact on the World - our very political and social view points and ideas today were shaped by WW2 and what started it.

Plus, you could put more detail if you made it Europe specific.

I have a problem that annoys me. Why won't the citizens around the globe become less happier? They keep loving their leaders no matter what. I've tried to remove happy wonders, happy improvements and entertainers, but nothing helps. Does anyone here have an idea? Can it have something to do with the city size?

I guess it has something to do with the difficulty level.

Btw, if you need any kind of help, feel free to ask!

Hmm, it looks like I'd better get a move on with 'Appeasement and Agression'

Finally!
After some intensive work and sleepless night I am finished. Only a couple of little things like title screen, readme.txt, solunds and events.txt remains. The reason I couldn't finish that off is because I have to go back into the army today. So if someone would be so kind, they could with my blessing finish the events.txt. It is playable now but It would be funnier with some sounds and events. Remember that this is ment for mulitiplayer games and not single player games. I will hopefully be home soon again and finish this off, but here you can look at it in the mean time.

Thanks, panag!

BTW: Just found a "bug". The money situation is all screwed up. It´s not balanced at all. And I can´t do anything about it here, but it will be improved. But feel free to comment other things in the mean time.
