Pekka, when I was your age, the things you worry about was already in my past. I moved to Finland, joined Åbo Akademi University and scored some chicks. Don't worry, the horrible day will come, but don't let it eat you. It's something we all have to go through, sooner or later.

Silly capitalist.
What i mean to say is that I think people commit suicide because of spiritual problems, not mental problems.

My father died when I was in the persian gulf. I flew halfway around the world to attend his memorial service (he was cremated). It can be difficult to mourn for someone who caused you so much pain. In fact, I never really did mourn for my father. I tried to cry, but couldn't.

It can happen even to people you love, you know. Despite loving my grandmother, I didn't cry at her funeral at all, although it still moves me to think about it.

I am not bothered by it. I am generally, rarely bothered. Being scared, annoyed, etc. rarely helps to the situation. That's why it's not useful to be scared or annoyed. Why the hell would I be scared or annoyed, then?

well, there's one reason why i don't like driving: i don't trust myself entirely behind the wheel when i'm unhappy.

i still don't see how anybody enjoys controlling metal death boxes on wheels.

It depends on how you tried, and how much pain/disability it caused. Also it depends if you failed because you changed you mind, or because you actually missed what you were trying to do, and so survived.

What is the difference? If you accept that there is no seperate self, no soul, then surely if something is spiritual it is mental to?

I think people commit suicide because they think that whatever will happen to them after death is better than their life will be.

It doesn't really bother me when someone dies.

It might be a bit weird the first week or so, not having whoever it was around, but it doesn't take long before it's history.

It's all different. Death affects a person different depending on the situation in which it comes. I've seen quiet a lot of it in the past 10 years and I have handled it in varing degrees of success.

An example would be to compare the deaths of my grandmother when I was 17 with the death of my fiancee ten years later. I loved my grandmother just as much as my fiancee and in truth had known her far longer. The difference lay in the circumstances. My grandmother had lived a long life and had been suffering for two years with illness. It hurt me to loose her but her passing was something she was prepared for and welcomed the end. My fiance was 24 years old with two kids and one on the way. Her life was taken from her in her prime. It was easier to accept the death of my grandmother as a relief from her pain. It was just her time. Becky's death was far harder to accept and in many ways that I still have not accepted it.

As for my own death. I will not presume to know how I will face it. There is not a person here that can say with absolute certainty how they will face death. I would like to think that I will face it with dignity and without fear, but one can not know until that time comes.

I've wondered: if you commit suicide and die but don't believe it and haven't been told otherwise, maybe you end up in your own he11 - that is, you go back to exactly the same place you were in before you died, and you spend all of eternity in that same horrible situation. I haven't heard too many arguments for the existence of Heaven.

If you try to commit suicide and fail, you actually ARE in the same place you started out in - your own personal hell - and you spend the rest of your life in that same horrible situation. You definitely haven't made it to Heaven, because you're still in the same fix.

This is sort of a horrible, grim reality - you can't get out of this he11, even if you die!

It's not death I fear, it's he11.

to say death is just the natural order if things is easy. but even with that information it is hard to say i am not afraid of death. and i dont think any person is really. it is the fear of pain that is linked to death.
